Let’s Discuss Your Project

X-Bond Finishes

There are four different X-Bond Microcement finishes available. With the ability to be thinly applied over an existing surface, X-Bond allows you to achieve a modern, concrete aesthetic throughout your project. Each finish is hand trowelled by our team of artisans, which creates natural colour variations and trowel movements throughout the surface - just one of the natural characteristics of X-Bond our customers love.

X-Bond Micro

X-Bond Micro is hand trowelled at 2-3mm thick over an existing substrate and then sanded for a smooth, monolithic design. The finish has visible trowel marks creating texture, tonal and colour variation.

X-Bond Blade

X-Bond Blade is for external floor applications only. The X-Bond is applied with a blade which creates texture to achieve a high slip rating.

X-Bond Mineral Finish

If you’re after a highly textured wall finish, or an anti-slip floor, X-Bond Mineral Finish is for you. X-Bond is sprayed onto the existing surface with a spray gun creating a splattered look.

Why Choose X-Bond

REMODEL WITHOUT REMOVAL

X-Bond allows you to remodel without removal thanks to its advance adhesion and flexibility properties. X-Bond can be applied directly over almost any substrate which means that you save not only the costs and time involved on removing an existing surface, but on material disposal too!

CONCRETE RESURFACING

As X-Bond creates a concrete looking finish, it’s used as a popular alternative to concrete, and can also be applied over an existing concrete slab. As cement is variable by nature, if you’re not happy with your existing concrete slab condition or colour, X-Bond can be hand trowelled over the slab to provide you with a seamless floor finish.

CONCRETE TEXTURE

X-Bond allows you to achieve a concrete textured finish on your floors, walls and joinery, without having to install concrete. We can install X-Bond at a minimal thickness over MDF joinery, plasterboard, compressed sheeting, tiles, brickwork and many more substrates, allowing you to achieve the concrete look and feel in your home.

Internal & External floors, walls, ceilings & joinery (inc. benchtops)

The other sealer options is Natural Shield which is a penetrating sealer. This sealer penetrates into the X-Bond leaving you with a raw concrete look and feel. This sealer is suitable for the following areas:

Internal & External walls

+ Will I be able to see trowel marks and colour variation once X-Bond is installed?

Yes, as X-Bond is a hand trowelled product, trowel marks, movement, texture and colour variation are all a natural characteristic of the X-Bond finish, and is what makes this finish so unique.

+ What substrates can X-Bond be applied over?

X-Bond is applied Insitu over a range of substrates including:

Floors: Concrete, tiles, 12-18mm compressed sheeting

+ What slip rating does X-Bond recieve?

Visit slip ratings by clicking here.

+ What does it cost to have X-Bond installed?

As X-Bond is a hand trowelled finish, we look at each job individually and price each job off plans as the price to install X-Bond varies depending on project location, total square meters, area of application, intricacy, height (for walls) etc. Please email sales@altsurfaces.com.au with your project details and drawings so that we can provide you with a quote.

+ Is X-Bond pourous?

As X-Bond is sealed and not left in a raw state, it is not pourous.

+ Does X-Bond need caulking after installation?

If X-Bond is installed to your bathroom, caulking would be required post installation by a professional caulker. It is up to the client if they would like caulking done in other areas of their project, however it's only necessary in wet areas.
