Specification Guidelines for each Quartz Carpet & Terradec Finish

Product: Quartz Carpet
Stone: 2-3mm
Finish: Open Pore

CHARACTERISTICS / APPLICATION:

Quartz stones are mixed with an epoxy and hand trowelled over an existing substrate at 5-7mm thick for foot traffic areas and 8-10mm thick for vehicle traffic. Some trowel marks may be visible in finished floor.

APPEARANCE:

  • Water permeable

  • Textured finish

  • Looks like carpet

  • Natural sheen of stones is enhanced by gloss sealer

  • Matt top coat can be requested to provide a more matt finish

Please note: under feature lights and natural light trowel marks become more evident. This is a natural characteristic of the finish.

AREAS OF SUITABILITY:

  • External floors

  • Internal floors (excluding shower bases)

  • Internal walls (excluding shower walls)

  • External walls

  • Joinery (faces only)

Open Pore finish not suitable for splashbacks, showers or internal wet areas such as kitchens & bathrooms as it is a non-moppable surface. Due to the textured finish, it may not be suitable for all joinery pieces.

Quartz Carpet 2-3mmOpen Pore achieves a P4 slip rating

Product: Quartz Carpet
Stone: 1-2mm or 2-3mm
Finish: Pore Filled / Pore Filled Matt

CHARACTERISTICS / APPLICATION:

Quartz stones are mixed with an epoxy and hand trowelled over an existing substrate at 5-7mm thick and 10-15mm thick for vehicle traffic. Some trowel marks may be visible in finished floor. A clear liquid called Pore Fill is applied over the stones to fill in the spaces between the stones. In addition to the Pore Fill, a coat of epoxy Gloss or Matt Sealer is applied over the Pore Fill.

APPEARANCE:

  • Textured finish

  • Pore Filled is gloss in appearance

  • Pore Filled Matt is matt in appearance

Please note: under feature lights and natural light trowel marks become more evident. This is a natural characteristic of the finish.

AREAS OF SUITABILITY:

  • Internal floors

  • Joinery (includes faces & tops)

Pore Filled finish not suitable for splashbacks, showers or external applications.

Quartz Carpet 1-2 & 2-3mm Pore Filled achieves a P2 slip rating
Can achieve a P4 slip rating by including non-slip additive (on request)

Product: Terradec Permeable Paving
Stone: 2-4mm or 4-6mm
Finish: Open Pore

CHARACTERISTICS / APPLICATION:

Terradec is a seamless outdoor water-permeable floor system. It consists of natural stones that are hand trowelled for a strong, porous floor. The stones are bound using a specifically developed polyurethane binder that is UV-stable and nonyellowing, making it excellent for external areas.

  • Natural stone texture

  • Water-permeable

  • Durable and impact resistant

  • UV stable and weather resistant stone and binder

  • Non-yellowing

  • External walkways / footpaths

  • Balconies / Patios

  • Joinery (faces only)

SLIP RATING:

Terradec 2-4mm & 4-6mm receives a P2 slip rating. Option with 12% sand to achieve a P4 rating.
