10 Year Limited Wear Warranty.
For installations completed by Alternative Surfaces only for X-Bond, Quartz Carpet & Pre-Stain System
1. If the ‘surfacing’ should wear out within 10 years of installation, Alternative Surfaces will evaluate your claim and subject to all conditions stated below, will arrange to remediate works, as outlined in your original invoice, insofar as:
1.1. works to the “floor, wall or joinery” was installed by Alternative Surfaces
1.2. the “floor, wall or joinery” was used under normal commercial or residential load and traffic conditions
1.3. the “floor, wall or joinery” has been maintained with recommended materials by the ‘manufacturer’ and according to specified procedures

If you do not have a product specification and/or maintenance instruction, please contact Alternative Surfaces at 329 Darebin Rd, Thornbury (03) 9427 1100.
2. The Alternative Surfaces Wear Warranty GUARANTEES the following:
2.1. depending on use, that the sealers on the “floor, walls or joinery” will not wear through within the applicable ‘warranty’ duration
2.2. that X-Bond overlay will not come apart or separate from the substrate
2.3. that the sealers will meet their product specification as outlined by the ‘manufacturer’
2.4. that the “wear layer” will not wear through to the substrate under normal foot traffic
2.5. that the Quartz Carpet products will not come apart or separate from the substrate
2.6. that Pre-Stain is colour fast
2.7. that Quartz Carpet colours are UV stable
3. The Alternative Surfaces Wear Warranty DOES NOT cover the following:
3.1. Colour variation between samples and /or printed illustrations and actual product.
3.2. Dissatisfaction
3.1.1. Abnormal wear and tear
3.1.2. Accidents
3.1.3. Cuts, tears, gauges or burns by sharp or hot objects dropped on the floor, dragged furniture or unprotected furniture feet.
3.1.4. Minor scratching and loss of gloss or sheen
3.1.5. Movements in the substrate
3.1.6. Shading (colour variations) of individual areas due to natural tonal variations
3.1.7. Harsh acidic chemicals, abrasive chemicals and incorrect cleaning products or incorrect cleaning procedures. (please refer to maintenance guide)
3.1.8. Staining caused by acid based food or drinks
3.1.9. Sub-floor irregularities (eg. loose nails, excessive unevenness, visual surface defects in the original substrate)
3.1.10. Natural disasters
3.1.11. Other parties during installation interrupting the curing process
4. How to make a claim:
If you experience a problem or defect in the finished surface which you believe is covered by the Alternative Surfaces Wear ‘Warranty’ and you want to make a claim under the ‘Warranty’, notify Alternative Surfaces in writing.
5. Other Conditions
5.1. The ‘Warranty’ contained herein is the sole and exclusive ‘Warranty’ provided by Alternative Surfaces.
5.2. In no event shall Alternative Surfaces be liable for any direct, indirect, special consequential or incidental damages of any kind, no matter what the cause. Alternative Surfaces shall only be liable for the obligations we assume under this ‘Warranty’.
5.3. The ‘Warranty’ is made only to the project owner.
5.4. The ‘Warranty’ commences at the completed date of installation.
5.5. The ‘Warranty’ is non-transferable, with the exception from Builder / Developer to project owner.
5.6. Claims must be received within the stated duration of the ‘Warranty’ period
5.7. Alternative Surfaces must pre-approve the cost of removal and reinstallation, in writing, prior to the commencement of the ‘Warranty’ work.
5.8. The site / project must be available for an inspection by Alternative Surfaces
5.9. Alternative Surfaces expressly excludes any liability for consequential losses
